Public Speaker Even #3 & #4 - Project Identification and Transmission Results

These speaking events will explore the remaining technical papers. The results of the project identification process will be shared including the sites remaining, their associated costs and positive and negative socio-economic and environmental effects. In addition several papers exploring the potential role of transmission connection will be shared.

Public Speaker Event #2 - Yukon Electricity Demand Forecast and Next Generation Hydro Short List
Explore Yukon’s future electricity demand with us. The Next Generation Hydro team will present the Draft Yukon Electricity Demand Report, sharing how they forecasted electricity demand 20-50 years from now. The team will also share Part 2 of the Site Screening Inventory, discussing the next levels of screening that were applied to potential hydro sites and which sites will proceed to the next stage of technical analysis. Participate in a Technical Workshop

Technical workshops are by invitation and are designed for professionals working in the areas of lands, environment, and energy from First Nations governments and development corporations, other governments, agencies, business and stakeholder groups. Contact the engagement team (see bottom of the page) to enquire about participating in an upcoming workshop.

Yukon First Nations Energy Forum #2
The Yukon First Nations Energy Forum is a follow up to the first Forum held 2011. It will bring together First Nations leadership and development corporations with experts from across the country to discuss energy partnership models and much more. The event will be held May 28, and 29th in Whitehorse. Community Tour

Community meetings will take place across the Yukon with a particular focus on communities that are located near sites identified on the short list. The Next Generation Hydro team will meet with First Nations government and citizens as well as community organizations, and municipal stakeholders to discuss the project, results of the technical work to date and next steps as well as to gather feedback.
